FUNERAL PACKAGES

When a death occurs, preparations are underway to provide the deceased loved one a proper send-off and to say goodbye. The whole process of the funeral preparations can be made simple.

Whether it is a Buddhist or Taoist funeral or a mixture of both, we can help make all the arrangements. The decision needed is to choose a 3 or 5 or 7 days package, with the funeral service on the last day. 

The process starts with registering to the authorities. Depending on where the death occurs, either local in Singapore or overseas, how the dealth occurs, whether autopsies are required, we can help liaise with the authorities and all parties

involved.

Embalming is prepartion of the body to be presentable. We help arrange for the cleansing and makeup and the family has to choose a set of clothing for the deceased. 

The funeral package also consists of a coffin or you can upgrade to a higher quality casket. 

Ceremonial rituals for prayer sessions, monks chanting can be arranged for every night or just the last night and the funeral day itself.

The prayer items such as joss sticks, incense papers and other accessories such as paper house, car, mobile phones, computers, gold bars, watches, jewelery, etc can be provided.

Food offerings can be simple vegetarian for Buddhists or just simply the deceased favourite foods.

The funeral day arrangements include the ceremonial rituals, prayers offerings, flowers, the live band, the transport for the coffin as well as the bus for the family, the food, etc. Depending on whether it is a cremation or burial, we would arrange accordingly to the family wishes.

The wake service usually commences 1 or 2 days after the death occurs. We help with void deck booking and settting up with the wake.

Depending on the location, a permit from the Town Council is required for wake services held at void decks, and if it is a private residence and the wake extends to the road beyond the boundaries of he house, a permit from Traffic Police is required. If the duration extends beyond 7 days, a permit from National Environment Agency is required. Not to worry, we would guide you through the necessary application process.

For the wake settings, from the altar setup including the framed photo and offerings, to the flowers arrangements and the surrounding decorations, we would help make all necessary arrangement accordingly to the family wishes.  Food caterings and drinks and snacks supplements can be included. Clothings, towels, bin, prayer items can be included.

Portable toilets are also available and other requests can be accomodated.  

For cremation, there are four availble venues to choose from. The two government sites are Choa Chu Kang Columbarium and Mandai Columbarium while the two private venues are Kong Meng San Phor Kar See Monastery and Tse Toh Aum Temple. The cremation fee varies for different venues and starts from $100 SGD. It is the lowest at Mandai Columbarium  and the private venues will be higher.

After the creation, the ashes can be stored at the chosen columbarium or temple or can be brought home should the family chooses. The collection of the ashes is usually the next day after the creation. Ceremonial rites can be performed as per request.

For burial on ground, there is only one place in Singapore, which is the Choa Chu Kang Cemetry. For sea burial, arrangements can be made via private boats.

Coffins can be made from wood, steel or paper. For wood, the usual selection is plywood but there are other quality of wood for choosing. Different designs can be catered too such as partial glass, and the embellishments such as the handles holders, or can be decorated with paper lotus folded from the incense paper.

For higher quality material and design, we have a range of caskets for selection too. It is a matter of choice and beliefs depending on the religion and personal preferences.

Sea burials in Singapore is completely legal as permitted by National Environment Agency though permission is required from Maritime Port Authority too. The only place for sea burial is south of Pulau Semakau (south west part of Singapore). Sea burials can be done by scattering the ashes and bones into the sea or by lowering the urn into the seabed. 

For sea burials, it is important to consider the number of family members going out to sea due to the maximum capacity limit by the boat. We can help arrange for any special requirements.

Flowers arrangement for the altar, flowers for prayers session, flowers for cleansing, etc can be arranged. The most common flowers are white and yellow chrysanthemums, lilies, lotuses as they symbolise purity, freedom and peace.

On the day of the funeral, flowers for the coffin, van, altar can also be arranged.
